BYLAWS
CAROLINA CLASSIC CHEVY CLUB BY-LAWS 3/14/00
ARTICLE I NAME:
This association shall be called Carolina Classic Chevy Club.
ARTICLE II OBJECTIVE:
To preserve, enjoy and promote restoration of all 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolets.
ARTICLE III CLUB STRUCTURE:
A. The activities of each Chapter shall be conducted by a Board of Directors. Members are encouraged to submit any
suggestions relative to the club activities to the Board of Directors for consideration.
B. All branch clubs will fall under the guidelines of existing By-laws of CCCC.
ARTICLE IV MEMBERSHIP:
A. Membership will be open to owners and enthusiasts of all 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolets.
B. Members are not required to own a classic.
C. Members are not required to hold active membership in the National Classic Chevy Club.
D. Members are encouraged to attend as many meetings or club functions as possible, but it is not mandatory to attend any
certain number.
ARTICLE V DUES:
A. Annual dues shall be $24.00 yearly.
B. Annual membership will expire on the last day of the twelfth month of the year.
C. Dues are payable before the end of February of each year.
D. Dues are prorated from the time they join the club until the end of the year.
ARTICLE VI ELECTIONS:
A. Each chapter will elect a Board of Directors at their annual meeting in December each year.
B. All terms of office will be for one year.
ARTICLE VII BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
A. The Board of Directors will be composed of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and as many Board members
as deemed necessary.
B. Vacancy on the Board of Directors, other than the Director, will be filled on a voluntary basis with approval from the Board of
Directors.
C. Vacancy of the President shall be filled by the Vice President until a new President is appointed by the club.
D. Any officer may be removed from his or her position by a 2/3 vote of the club members.
E. Any member attending the Board meetings will also have a vote in all decisions.
ARTICLE VIII DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
A. The President shall:
(1) preside over all meetings;
(2) serve as official representative of the club;
(3) appoint all committees;
(4) be authorized to sign checks as co-signer.
B. The Vice President shall:
(1) preside in the absence of the President;
(2) serve as official representative of the club;
C. The Treasurer shall:
(1) be custodian of all funds;
(2) make payments for all bills and expenses by check;
(3) keep an itemized account of all money;
(4) deposit all funds in a bank account chosen by self and the President;
(5) report financial standing at each meeting (monthly)
(6) submit an annual report at the end of each year;
(7) be authorized to sign all checks.
D. The Secretary shall:
(1) read and file all correspondence;
(2) record minutes of the meetings and present same;
(3) send notes of appreciation, etc.
(4) type all correspondence.
E. The Board of Directors shall:
(1) establish the annual dues with 2/3 members present;
(2) have the right to use dues in any way beneficial to the club;
(3) bring any misconduct to the attention of the President or the Vice President;
(4) make all final decisions on club business and activities when necessary.
ARTICLE IX MEETING:
A. Club meeting will be held each month. Time and place will be given in the newsletter.
B. Entire membership meetings will be announced in the newsletter.
C. All meetings will be open to the membership.
ARTICLE X NEWSLETTER;
A. The title of the newsletter shall be “Chevy Chatter”.
B. The newsletter shall be published once a month.
C. Advertising will be free to all members.
ARTICLE XI DISCIPLINARY ACTION:
A. Any member who conducts himself or herself in a manner which causes embarrassment to the club will be subject to
dismissal after review of the majority of the members present at a regular club meeting.
B. Reinstatement of any member dismissed must be by membership vote by club membership.
ARTICLE XII CHANGING THE BY-LAWS
A. The By-Laws cannot be changed or amended without a 2/3 vote of the members present.
